This is the one-minute slice of today's morning companion: a verse and a step. If it helps, there's a quiet door to the full day below.
"Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid." Matthew 14:27
Before you plunge into today's tasks, give yourself five quiet minutes, as Jesus did on the mountain. Bring nothing but yourself and the storm already stirring in you. Place into your open hands the one thing you fear most today.
Then choose a short sentence for the day and keep it ready, like Peter's cry: "I am looking at You, Lord; don't let me look at the wave." The first time the wind catches you today, a decision, a hard message, bad news, don't answer at once: say this first, and only then take the step.
