In Your Presence · One-Minute Companion

This is the one-minute slice of today's morning companion: a verse and a step. If it helps, there's a quiet door to the full day below.

"For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." Matthew 18:20
Seek peace with one person today

Think of the one person you're at odds with: an unspoken hurt, a cold silence, an old wound. Don't think of them all, just that one. Today take a single small step toward them: a message, a call, a word in which you're not looking for your rightness, but for them.

Before you do it, stop for a prayer. Say it softly: "Lord, I don't want to win against them; I want to win them back. Come and stand between us." And if today there's no unfinished business between you and anyone, then set down the measuring tape: every time you catch yourself comparing yourself to someone else, let it go, and give thanks for who you are.
