In Your Presence · One-Minute Companion

This is the one-minute slice of today's morning companion: a verse and a step. If it helps, there's a quiet door to the full day below.

„Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you… that you may know that I am the Lord.” Ezekiel 16:60,62
Love one person today without their earning it

Think today of one person who would be easy to love only by the measure: the one who isn't grateful, who irritates you, who hasn't earned it. Not the whole world, just them. Give them something of what you received for free: a patient word, a reproach left unspoken, a burden you quietly lift off their shoulder.

Before you do, pause for a prayer and say it softly: „Lord, I'm not giving from my own love, but from yours: the love that holds me too, without my earning it.” It doesn't have to be large. One person, one gesture, one place where you step in for someone today, and the rest you can leave to the One who never forgets the covenant.
