Look today for one person the world hardly notices: the one in the background, the one who's tired, the one praise slides off of. Don't try to lift the whole world, just them. Say the simple truth to them: that they matter, that they're good, that you're glad they exist. A message, a sentence, a phone call is enough: „You matter. I'm glad you're here.”

When you do this, you do in small what God does in large: you bend down to the one others would look past, and with a single word you lift them. Before you do, pause for a prayer and say it softly: „Lord, make me for someone today the hand that lifts.” Leave the rest to the One who loves the little ones most of all.
